Just Saying Hi

In case you missed this. Click

I've been busy. I visited the Farmers' Market at Battlefield Mall in Springfield the last two Saturdays. Tomatoes are here! They taste like real tomatoes. Rita joined me and then we went to Captain D's one week and Big Momma's the next. The past Saturday, we also went to the craft and quilt sale where Friend Jean's Methodist Women's Group participated. Of course, I bought some costume jewelry.

The prior Saturday, I met Mim and Fannie Mae at Big Momma's and then on to Evangel University to see a presentation of Fiddler on the Roof. So much talent! I can't imagine the hours of rehearsal. One of the professors was in the cast, as well as an alumnus who played the main part. Absolutely delightful. I urge you to check out their scheduled performances. The entrance to the building which houses the theater is on Glenstone, right behind the big parking lot. The recitals are free, I believe. Tickets to Fiddler are $15. The painters came Wednesday and Thursday, so my house is still in a jumble.
I gave them a salad bar on Wednesday and then the boss treated all of us to a pizza buffet at Godfathers on Thursday. Seems all I've done is eat and then eat some more.

I'm finding time to get rid of books, including cookbooks (sad) as I promised  myself I'd start decluttering in earnest, but it's slowing the return to normal in the family room and laundry, as I deep clean after painters are here. It's a perfect time with all the pictures down and everything (almost) moved out and surfaces cleared of knick-knacks.

Years ago, I thought it would be fun to have guests over for sandwiches and soup or salad - not a big meal in the middle of the day. Then I remembered the tea rooms always give you a little of each, so I've worked up some 5S lunches and can't wait for everyone (including myself) to get unbusy (is that a word?) so we can try out the idea. Five S lunches: Soup, Sandwich, Salad, Sweet, and Something Else. This doesn't mean normal portions - it would be scaled down to mini-portions like the tearooms.

Sorry I don't have anything to share, but I'll get back to it soon. I'm itching to get back in the kitchen.
