I've been busy eating.
Wendy's in Nixa
Conetta and I met to talk, and she got a coffee and brought me the cutest little frosty I've ever seen. Do you know about Frosty Key Tags? They're sold at certain times of the year as a fundraiser for Wendy's adoption charity. You buy one and put it on your key ring (if you still have one), and anytime you make a purchase at Wendy's, you can get a free little frosty by showing the tag. When I Googled Wendy's to check about discounts, I got confusing info. I think their Senior discounts vary by location. One said that you can get a free frosty if you purchase over $5, key tag or not. I got varied information about senior drinks. I asked about the key tags in Nixa, and she said that they'll go on sale again around Thanksgiving. Thanks, Conetta.
Big Whiskey in Nixa
Conetta and I had fish and chips. The fish is the kind you can buy at the market (already precooked) and bake yourself. I think they thawed it by deep frying, making it better than baking. The Cole slaw was weird. They add barbecue sauce and other seasonsings, which makes it inedible. I loved the fries, and this is the first time I've finished my fries because there were so few.
Ocean Zen in Springfield Fannie Mae's birthday lunch.
Mim had Macadamia Chicken. The topping is deep-fried shredded sweet potato. It also had mashed potatoes and veggies.
I had a Bento Box with pork. I almost cried when I had to hand over my candied pecans due to my new allergy (how did that happen? embarassing), and I don't like the Krab or Surimi (whatever you wish to call it - it's still fish, not crab) in the California Roll. I brought it home to my kitties, who gave me a questioning "What is this?" look and turned away. And, no, it wasn't the seaweed. I deconstructed the rolls and gave them only the "crab." I also had some really good Miso Soup with mine.
Some Thursdays are very busy at Ocean Zen, as Rotary meets here. They were all over the place, going to and from a Mexican buffet set up in the main dining area. No, buffet was just for Rotary, but they do have a Sunday brunch on Mother's Day and possibly Easter. You can view photos of the interior from my July, 2017, post Here. It's still the same, and it seems, the menu hasn't changed much either. We did enjoy seeing live coral (several varieties) in the huge fish tank.
Catrina's Cantina in Springfield
Another depressing interior. Do you suppose these boring colors became a fad during the China Virus pandemic? Somebody was really unhappy when they decided this would be our latest array of (non)colors.
Wow! A pop of color.
Nice
And to add to the misery.
Come winter, I pity the poor greeter if there's a fire in the fireplace. And would the fire be good for that wine?
A little brighter on the other side, as the door and windows look out to a courtyard.
Barb (the Good Girl) had a Chicken Bowl.
Pizza Ranch, Springfield - Battlefield Mall With Bud, Barb, and Terri.
It's not just pizza, folks! Start with a bowl of soup. That day it was chicken-noodle.
My favorites were the fried chicken, biscuits, and raspberry tea. I didn't try the soup, but it looked really good.
There's Happy Hour Mon-Thurs, 2:00 to 4:00 with reduced prices, AND they have a Two to Go, which is two meals; two pieces of chicken and two sides in each meal. Wednesday is Senior Day with a reduced price, as well.
Wendy's in Nixa
Back for hamburgers with Conetta. I'm learning so much from her. Back in the old days, she was known as a Coupon Queen. We should start a movement: Bring Back Coupons!!!
Anyway, she told me that you can buy a single hamburger, ask for an additional patty, and it's only $1.39 extra. I would bring it home, and bake a potato, whip up a salad, put that patty in the microwave a few seconds, add a little barbecue or horseradish sauce, and presto! lunch the following day.
I usually split a pound of hamburger into fourths, and it costs $5 a pound, so $1.25 each patty. The Wendy's patty would come cooked, and I think more than a quarter-pound, for 14 cents more. Deal! And don't forget the free frosty.
Enough about food. I made a promise to myself that if I don't reach a certain weight goal by the end of September, I have to give up ten garments which are too small.
I got up and started working on my closet yesterday at 6:00 a.m. and before I knew it, it was 9:00 a.m. About two-thirds of the way through, I had to go throw up. I don't know if it was from improper food choices the day before, or the sight of all those clothes which caused it. I'm pretty sure it wasn't morning sickness.
I didn't want my morning coffee (a sure sign something is amiss), and I just couldn't get going. I did go back a few times and work on the closet a little more. I'm using plastic hangers for jackets and cardigans, yarn-covered wire hangers for pants, and wire hangers for tops. Notice there aren't any skirts anymore (though I have a few in the guest closet).
I finally finished this morning, and it's making me happy to be organized again.
Fall
Spring and Summer
Winter (Black pants are with Spring/Summer)
Who needs this many umbrellas?
I ran out of wire hangers
So now I must go to Walmart for more hangers or sleep in the guest room tonight, so I'd better get busy.
By the way, I have one more section in my closet of too-small clothes, and the guest room closet is full of the same, though it's much smaller than my master closet. See, I told you that I'm a hoarder. But, I'm on it. I wore a top I'd never worn before this week, and I just didn't like it, so as soon as it's laundered, off to the thrift store. I plan to do this from now one. If it isn't making me happy, off with its hanger. AND, perhaps I'll ungrow (what's the opposite of outgrow?) some of them so they can go as well.
People, wake up. Click Here And he honeymooned in China, had several exchange student programs when he was a high school coach (you remember - the one who put tampons in the boys bathroom), and has made several trips to China.
Click Here You gotta see this! Watch to the end and then a little more.
Is this a scam? Click Here. If it's not, I want some.
You'll love this from Nephew Ron Click Here. I want to watch all of them (almost). I checked on airline food in my birth year, but no surprise - it didn't exist.
That's all I have. Still not drinking my morning coffee. Maybe I need an allergy pill. Or maybe it's just too much restaurant food.
