Catching Up

I started this blog post ages ago, thinking I would add to it, but I didn't have anything worth blogging about and still don't. But - when life gives you backaches, make cards. I've been suffering from Sciatica, sitting in a chair, feeling sorry for myself, and making cards to divert my attention from the pain. I wanted to share them with some of you, and too many to put in an email, so I'm using this way to share them. (see below)

It seems the US isn't the only country where the criminals have more rights than the victims. I just finished a series called A Confession on BritBox. It's a true story, based on the book Catching a Serial Killer written by the person who caught him, Stephen Fulcher. I couldn't stop watching, and I can't stop praising Stephen Fulcher - a dedicated detective who is my new hero. If he hadn't caught this killer, how many more daughters would have been lost? I hope he made a ton of money from the sale of his book and rights to the movie.

And the dedication of a mother whose daughter was murdered is beyond comprehension. She never gave up, made justice for her daughter her life purpose, and continues to this day, trying to see that victims are protected. I can't say as much for the mother of the first victim. I found her entirely unlikeable - so kudos to the actress who played the part.

If you've been hearing about the great prices at Temu.com but also rumors of scam, I want you to know that I've ordered tons of treasures from Temu, and this is the review I just gave them:

"Some of your products are not the greatest, but I want to tell you that your website is great; your return policy superb; your record-keeping spotless (I'm a former bookkeeper and I've checked); and your overall efficiency is better than any other company I've ordered from. I always know where my order is located when it's en route, each item has a note to tell you if you've ordered it in the past, you let me know when something is back in stock, and I can review former orders and reorder easily if I wish. Good job all!"

I whipped up  some of these kits for Katie's card class before the problem.

And I made some of these for sending requested recipes, pre-backache.

My backache cards - some still need the inside message; most need envelopes.

Photos I saved to blog about from the Nixa city-wide yard sale on May 10.

$1

$2

$3.25 for all

$3 - I also bought a white one, but forgot to take a photo.

One of my best bargains - 50 cents. I put all of my "things" dies in here.

50 cents - no saucer, but I can use a plain one and use it for a mini flower arrangement.

50 cents each

Also 50 cents each. The candle holder came from Princess House and uses mini-tapers, formerly available at Hallmark. As they no longer have them, I went to my reliable source - Temu. I bought a box of 100 for $12.88; 10 each of 10 colors. They aren't as tall as the Hallmark tapers, but perfect for a low arrangement of flowers or a major statement birthday cake, and a fraction of the price Hallmark charged. I have several of these holders, so now I can actually use them.

Rain coming, so I brought in the last of my flowers.

I ran into the Golden Girls in a parking lot.

And saw this clever idea at the NLA Cafe, aka The Redneck Cafe.

My robins haven't used their nest for two years, so it's coming down.

My neglected weeds got this high. Pulling them gave me the Sciatica problem. Lesson learned.

Last night I told Niece Terri that I might feel like working in the yard again - back problem started June 1 - and she nixed the idea. Guess I might sit on my bum and make some more cards.
