There isn't much going on worth reporting, but I'm totally over my Sciatica and doing a little yard work. I'm so far behind, I wonder if I'll ever get caught up, and then I remember my affirmation: "I can do this!" I find myself repeating this more often these days.
I guess we all have little quotes or sayings to spur us on. Mine, pertaining to diet - Eat Less, Move More and Eat the Rainbow Today. I handled the last one at lunch today with a salad of Romaine, carrot, celery, cucumber, tomato, radishes, baby corn, Vidalia onion, some leftover green beans, and pickled beets, then topped with chicken cubes. I didn't use a lot of each, but got my variety and it wasn't too much for one meal. And I always remember Jim Rohn's idea - Do what you have to as fast as you can, so you can do what you want to as long as you can.
I wanted to share this, because it looks like things we might want to try.

And a few cards I finished this week.
I bought a package of notecards and envelopes from Dollar Tree and just stuck something on the front. I like having thank you cards on hand.
I cut the boots and umbrellas from some a page of scrapbook paper. The little words say "Rain, rain" and "go away."
A few cards from a new scrapbook collection.
I learned this trick from Katie Sue. When the included cutouts are too large, just take out your scissors. These are 6" x 4", and our card bases are 5-1/2" x 4-1/4" and we usually leave an edge.
There are 48 sheets total: 2 each of two different sheets of cutouts and the balance is cardstock. They have great markdowns at times.
Also from Michael's, this book was even a better bargain - still 48 sheets, but check out this price.
I did have one fun day last week: Elly and I went to The Red Onion in Joplin for lunch and then on to Downstream Casino to celebrate her birthday really late, as it was right in the middle of my back interruption. Sorry I forgot to take photos of our lunches. You must try this restaurant if you haven't been there. Hop on Highway 44 and head west toward Oklahoma. When you get to Joplin, go right (north) on Main (there's an offramp right after Rangeline), then turn right (east) on 4th and go a block to the restaurant on your left. There's plenty of parking in the lot next door. And don't forget to take home a bottle of the house salad dressing. It's $6.75, but worth it.
Until next time -
